The former Miss Black Georgia of 2006 is also the co-founder of Break Free, a non-profit that educates people about teenage domestic violence. She's also working on a book for teens on the same topic. In addition to a B.A. in Political Science, Bessie is a professionally-trained actor. Her most recent project is The A, a pilot she taped with Clifton Powell. She is also performing in the theater production El Hajj Malik: The Life and Times of Malcolm X directed by Michael Simanga and produced by IKAM Productions. 1. What is your biggest accomplishment?
I would have to say my biggest accomplishment to date would be being Miss Black Georgia USA 2006. During my reign I was able to touch the lives of many young women that I would not have had the opportunity to meet or come in contact without the Miss Black Georgia USA title as a vessel. Being Miss Black Georgia allowed me to lay the foundation of co-founding my non-profit organization, and my book, both geared toward teenage girls and domestic violence.

It’s a tie between The Color Purple and Beloved
3. Describe your personal diva style.
I consider my personal style as “sexy sophisticated.” I love fashion that is timeless.
4. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
If what you are trying to do is not on purpose and with intention---then what is the point?
5. You look mah-valous! What is your secret??
WATER! I drink plenty of water about 1 gallon a day. I also try to get plenty of rest when I can.
6. What's one dream you look forward to having come true?
Wow...I have so many..but I would say playing the lead role in a SAG Film.
7. If a movie were made about your life, what actress would play you and who would be your leading man?
Nia Long and the leading man would have to be played my Terrence Howard.
8. What 3 adjectives would your best friend use to describe you?
Loyal, ambitious, caring.
9. What makeup/beauty essential can you absolutely positively not live without?
Lip gloss. I’m not a huge fan of colored lipstick so lip gloss.
10. What’s playing on your CD or MP3 player right now?
Soul artist Eric Roberson all day long. It has been a while since I have been in love with an album and all the songs on it.
11. What is one thing you wish more people knew about you?
That not only am I a native of Ghana, West Africa, I also speak four different Ghanaian dialects.
12. What, in your opinion, is the formula for success?
Plan + Action + Diligence + Prudence = Success
