August 2008: Adriene Hobdy
	Age: 24 Location: Philadelphia, PA Occupation: Businesswoman Status: Married Children: None Adreine is a living testament to the power of hard work, patience and prayer. This very together sista has obtained both her bachelor's and master's degrees in XXX. She also serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations while being active in her church community. Now, Adriene is applying her ambition to developing a financial planning company to help young professionals learn how to build wealth.
1. What is your biggest accomplishment? My biggest accomplishment is that I am steadily achieving my educational goals education while giving back to my community, strengthening my spirituality and devoting time to my family. 2. Name your favorite movie. Beloved. (I actually like the book and the movie). 3. Describe your personal diva style. Urban Chic: Every now and then I like to get all dolled up to go out and have fun; but on the flip-side I want to be comfortable. I like vibrant colors and unique designs. 4. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received? My grandmother always told me to pray without ceasing and not to allow other people to dictate my actions. Antoher piece of advice would be "time is precious, so don't waste it!" 5. You look mah-valous! What is your secret?? Staying active! I give back in my community in a variety of ways, I am involved with my church, and my sorority. My husband and I go on small adventures every other month just to keep it spicy. By staying active, I am able to better regulate my health and stimulate my mind. 6. What's one dream you look forward to having come true? Seeing my financial consulting business excel to new heights. 7. If a movie were made about your life, what actress would play you and who would be your leading man? Jennifer Hudson would be me because she has a strong personality, but she is also very down to earth. My leading man (husband) would be played by Djimon Hounsou because he has is passionate about his work, super talented and very attractive. 8. What 3 adjectives would your best friend use to describe you? Intelligent, Thoughtful and Independent 9. What makeup/beauty essential can you absolutely positively not live without? My C.O. Bigelow lip gloss! I love the way it makes my lips feel. 10. What’s playing on your CD or MP3 player right now? I love traditional “old school” gospel music, at work I'm listening to a Rev. Clay Evans CD. 11. What is one thing you wish more people knew about you? I love to laugh, have fun and enjoy life. 12. What, in your opinion, is the formula for success? A combination of faith, hard-work and patience: With faith you can conquer anything. Hard-work leads to success. Being patient is essential because it breeds persistence.   I believe that this combination can help anyone succeed in their career and/or personal life. 13. What motivates you? My family and my faith in God. 14. Complete this sentence: "One year from now I would like to... be enrolled in a PhD program researching the effects of Medicare and Medicaid funding in long-term care financing. 15. Sum up your personal philosophy. Strive for the best in everything that you do. One of my favorite quotes about life is by Cary Grant, which says: My formula for living is quite simple.
