Eunice is the current reigning Miss Black Florida (www.myspace.com/eunicecofie). She will be representing Florida in the Miss Black USA pageant in Las Vegas in May 2008. Her platform is "Preventing Childhood Obesity and Diabetes through Education and Life Transforming Habits.In her role as Miss Black Florida, Eunice is excited about the opportunity to travel around the state of Florida to promote her platform to teach others how to prevent growing epidemic of obesity and diabetes in children. As she says, "Although we all know how important it is to eat healthy and exercise, we still do not put these habits into practice because we haven't changed our thinking about our health. The choice to live healthy begins in the mind and we have to be proactive about it."

What is your biggest accomplishment?
My biggest accomplishment is being to go and serve my people in Ghana, West Africa by coordinating and implementing an HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention Program called Save a Million Lives in a rural village.
Name your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is Malcolm X. The director, Spike Lee did a wonderful job at depicting the life of Malcolm X.
Describe your personal diva style.
I am a cross between glamour girl and t-shirt and jeans girl. It all depends on how I feel that day. I really like wearing African clothing especially the formal Kaba traditional wear worn in Ghana. I really like fish style of the Kaba. It accentuates all the right places on my body.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
I remember in high school, a former secret serviceman speaking to my class about his career and one thing that has always resonated with me from his speech was the statement, " Work hard while you are young, so that you can relax when you are old".
You look mah-valous! what is your secret??
I would say that my secret weapon is prayer! Prayer helps to beautify me first on the inside and then outwardly.What's one dream you look forward to coming true?
Since I was a child, I have always dreamed of becoming a physician.

What 3 adjectives would your best friend use to describe you?
Funny, supportive, and petite!
What makeup/beauty essential can you absolutely positively not live without?
I can not live with out a good hair conditioner.
What's playing on your CD player right now?
I enjoy listening to the song Closer by Goapale. She sings about getting closer to reaching her dreams and that is how feel about my life right now.
What is the one thing you wish more people knew about you?
I wish people knew that I am not as quiet as they think!
What is your opinion, is the formula to success?
Perseverance is the key to success. One thing I know is that on the journey to success, there are going to be a lot of obstacles and challenges. Perseverance is really a test of character. It tests to see if how much you want it and if you are strong enough. I believe that if we push ourselves, we would see the great strength and power that we never knew resided within us.
What motivates you?
My desire to use my gifts and talents to empower others.
